Hungary Family Reunification Permit
Support, coordination, and legal facilitation
We help you bring your family to Hungary with expert immigration support and licensed Hungarian attorney assistance throughout the entire process.
What Is the Family Reunification Permit?
A Family Reunification permit allows family members of Hungarian residents, Hungarian citizens, or third-country nationals with valid residence permits to legally join their loved ones in Hungary.
It allows:
- Spouses to join their partner in Hungary
- Minor children to reunite with parents
- Dependent parents to join their adult children
- Automatic residency for children born in Hungary to permit holders
- Legal residence with the same validity period as the sponsor’s permit
Important: Not all residence permit types allow family reunification. Some permits require waiting periods before family members can join.
Who This Is For
Spouses & Partners:
- Legally married spouses of Hungarian citizens
- Spouses of third-country nationals with valid residence permits
- Registered partners (including same-sex couples)
Children:
- Minor children (under 18) of the sponsor

- Stepchildren when the sponsor’s spouse has parental custody
- Children born in Hungary to third-country national permit holders (automatic eligibility)
Dependent Parents:
- Parents unable to support themselves financially
- Parents dependent on their adult child in Hungary

Other Family Members (Special Cases):
